Located within Sutton Coldfield, the new proposals seek the conversion of the existing former Sutton Coldfield Police Station at Lichfield Road into a new General Practice (GP) medical facility. The project will provide a new, modern, accessible, and high-quality primary care health centre to meet the needs of the local community in Sutton Coldfield and surroundings, set within the existing structure of the redundant Police Station.

It is proposed that the change of use of the redundant police station building for a new primary care health centre will enhance the local area and provide modern facilities within a suitable location. The proposed GP medical facility is a wholly sustainable and viable use bringing a current vacant building back into active use. The proposed improvements will support improved healthcare initiatives in the local community extending to creating new employment opportunities. The improvement works will extend to future users of the facility, meeting the demand for services resulting from growth and investment in local healthcare provision. The inclusion of the new retail community pharmacy and dispensing area incorporating the latest technology including for robotic dispensing will also further provide a new modern service to the public using the medical centre for convenience and access.
